VIP.....re-opening

OK...here's the plan. I buy the old VIP building AND the building just to the north of it. That building, I sell to Paul Brenton for an Alice Cooper Museum. I refurbish the old VIP building and start bringing in local bands. No, not today's local Phoenix bands....the old local bands. I find the Vibratos, the P-Nut Butters, the Wildflowers (W/Mike Bruce). I get Skip and Neal to reform a surf band....and of course, Blue Coupe! [Maybe they would open for the Vibratos?] :)

Pat McMahon and Wallace could MC....especially when they introduce the NEW Salt River Navy Band....formerly DIMMA!  I understand that Vince Furnier is fronting a cover band....maybe I could get him to perform.

I also want to set up a section of the VIP, for local VIPs. Invite Rose Mofford, Linda Turley, Marge from the Humane Society, Jack Curtis, and Brad Perry - of course.

AC Documentary

Upcoming New Alice Cooper film. After checking around on the net, and talking to a few people…I have learned that I was under the wrong impression of what the(new)documentary film from Banger Films will be about. I guess, to paraphrase a friend, I was naive enough to think a film about Alice Cooper would end up being a film about ‘the band’ called Alice Cooper. Naive, stupid, or just a slow learner? Having read a blurb about the film several years ago, somehow my mind formed the idea that it was to be a film more about the band than Alice himself. I guess all I knew then was that Banger films contacted Janice and asked for pictures of Glen and the early years of the band…thus I jumped to the conclusion that the movie documentary would center on the bands formation, rise to fame, and breakup. Wrong. I now know that the film is financed by Shep Gordon's company, and that the ‘story line’ is about the life of Alice Cooper - the man…again. Now, I am not some doddering old man, who is not in touch with the reality of the world. I know Alice Cooper (the man) will sell – where as a film that would be about “the four other guys”, would not. Yet, I sincerely think there is a good story to be told about the original bands genesis, rise to super stardom, and their eventual demise. Were I a man of infinite resources, I’d want to make a film like that – even knowing it would not be a big money maker. But, I’d have to come up with a hook to drag in investors and eventually viewers. And I 'ain’t' got one. Banger Films does – it being the familiar face, and eyes, of AC. So I guess I am left to witness yet another story of Alice Cooper – the icon, and I will have to keep my fingers crossed that the amount of attention paid to the original guys in the band, will at least equal the amount of time the film will spend on AC’s connection with Johnny Depp. Alas, those that have…get.
